Benefiting Member States
Burkina Faso
Despite efforts by the government of Burkina Faso, technical and operational limitations affect migration and border management. An inter-ministerial coordination framework bringing together various government departments involved, is not yet established in spite of the multitude of actors (national institutions, technical and financial partners) that are working in the field of migration and border management.
This project aims to contribute to the efforts of the Government of Burkina Faso for more effective, coordinated and collaborative management of migration issues and borders in Burkina Faso according to international standards. An assessment of the legal, political and administrative frameworks will be carried out, as well as the development of tools to ensure the inclusion of migration into sectoral policies, and capacity building of border police officers and high government officials through training and equipment.
