The objective of the project is to develop a baseline study with the goal of establishing a National Observatory on Migration, which in turn would contribute to better migration governance in Gabon based on reliable and accurate information on migration and allow for the development of evidence-based policies and hence address potential challenges related to migration. The study will analyze available data on migration flows in the country, data collection sources and data collection method. It will also analyse the institutional model of the future National Observatory on Migration, its structure and functions and the specific needs for optimal functioning of the Observatory. Further, a workshop targeted at government authorities and relevant civil society members, will be organized to strengthen their knowledge on migration.
