This project consists of a four months assessment to be conducted for the Government of Azerbaijan (GoAz) and its relevant agencies on existing migration management capacity.
The assessment will be used as a baseline study to support the establishment of a possible new Central Migration Authority (CMA) and development of other relevant authorities involved with migration management activities as well as creation of a biometrics identification system in the Republic of Azerbaijan. It will also provide recommendations for future migration management capacity-building projects. Conducted by two independent migration experts, the project will assess current migration a) legislative bases; b) administrative structures; c) technical capacity and d) equipment.
This 1035 Facility project will follow the guidelines of implementation of the EU project ‘Establishment of Integrated Border Management (IBM) Model in Azerbaijan’ as much as possible in order to qualify as co-funding for the EU project.
