The project will contribute towards the design and implementation of an Afghanistan national ID card. Project activities will focus on improving the security of the card and the integrity of the issuance process.
IOM will serve in the role of technical advisor and consultant to the Government of Afghanistan, in cooperation with UNDP’s Election Advisory office in Afghanistan and IFES (formerly the International Foundation for Election Systems). IOM’s work will also focus on possible linkages to passport issuance procedures.
