Migration and Refugees Study Course
A two-day course for government officials
from various Iranian ministries and bureaux opens tomorrow in the
Iranian capital, Tehran.
The course, organized by IOM and the Iranian
government, is the latest in a series of specialized trainings on
migration and refugee-related issues for Iranian officials and
policy makers involved in migration management. The training is
through the Academy for Migration and Refugee Studies, established
by the Iranian government in close collaboration with IOM in
September 2004.
Issues such as international legal
instruments, migration economics, migration and human security and
migration and health will be discussed during this course. Course
material and curriculum are based on IOM's Essentials of Migration
Management (EMM) a reference tool devised for governments and
policy makers
Participants on this course funded by the
Belgian government, will include 100 representatives from the
Foreign, Interior and Labour Ministries as well as law enforcement
agencies and other relevant departments.
