Iranian Officials to Train on Migration and Development
Iran - IOM, in collaboration with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will organize a two-day workshop on “Enhancing Institutional Knowledge of Migration and Development Issues” in Mazandaran province, Ramsar City on 22-23 October 2012.
The aim of the workshop is to enhance participants’ understanding of how to mainstream migration into development planning.
Linkages between international migration and development will be discussed, with a specific focus on promoting migrants’ contributions to the development of their home countries through remittances, investment and the creation of business opportunities, as well as the transfer of skills and knowledge.
Officials from the Iranian Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs, and Immigration Police will attend the two-day workshop, which is funded by Japan.
