IOM welcomes its Goodwill Ambassador - Dimash Qudaibergen!
16 February 2024 - IOM - The UN Migration Agency is delighted to announce that Dimash Qudaibergen has been appointed as its Goodwill Ambassador covering the region of Asia and beyond!
Dimash Qudaibergen is a widely popular Kazakh singer and composer. Dimash holds the title of the People's Artist of Kazakhstan, granted by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Dimash’s voice is heard by millions of people around the globe and has the power to advocate and raise awareness on human rights. The world of music and the search for new talents set an example of continuous cultural exchanges that societies can benefit from and open opportunities outside the national borders. Music can unite people from different backgrounds and life experiences, building a secure society free of xenophobia.
"In my new role as the IOM Goodwill Ambassador, I am proud to advocate for the human rights of migrants. Let us unite for a world where every person is protected and open to opportunities", says Dimash.
The goal of IOM's Goodwill Ambassadors programme is to engage renowned personalities from cultural, arts and sports areas and to advocate for migration-related issues, emphasizing the importance of safe, orderly, and regular migration, responding to crises on the ground, resettlement, combatting discrimination and xenophobia, mobilizing efforts to address the climate mobility crisis, safeguarding the health and overall wellbeing of migrants and mobile populations, as well as tirelessly working to eradicate human trafficking.
