The presentations were made in both official languages of the Republic of Chad (French and Arabic) and were animated by lively debates between the presenter and the co-researcher, IOM National Officer Mr. Mahamat Nour and the audience.
Following the presentations, the Rector of the “Roi Faycal” University has requested IOM to support his institution to include “Migration” as a subject in the teaching curricula of the Faculty of Education. Moreover, other Universities in the country have requested IOM to make the presentation of the Migration Study results in their Universities as well.
“Disseminating the results of a study in such an important domain – Migration – among the intellectuals is a pre-requisite for achieving tangible impact in the society,” says Dr. Qasim Sufi, the IOM Chief of Mission in Chad.
The study was carried out following a request from the Government of Chad and with the financial support from the IOM Development Fund (IDF).
The events were widely covered by national mass media including National Television, radio and newspapers.
