Agreement between IOM and UMSA deepens migration and human trafficking studies in Bolivia
Bolivia - The San Andres Major University (UMSA), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) signed an interagency cooperation agreement that will allow them to develop joint projects in the areas of expertise of IOM, especially human trafficking.
The document was signed by Waldo Albarracin, Rector of the Universidad Mayor de San Andres, and Walter Arce Sanchez, Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration, strategically to develop activities for the benefit of society in general, and young Bolivians in particular, in relation to migration issues and human trafficking in the country.
"This partnership is not only for sharing information and working together, but that together we face the problem of human trafficking in Bolivia, better" said Waldo Albarracin, noting that the IOM has been working with them for a long time, and that it is a reliable organization of high reputation, which honors its commitments and is always ready to work, and the partnership has been very beneficial for the University.
"It is a work that both organizations benefit from and move into profit for migrants and the Bolivian population in general," said Arce to mention that the agreement will further advance the development of public policies, among other issues, to strengthen intervention to improve services on migration and protection of domestic migrants.
