The Grand Bargain is an agreement between the biggest donors and humanitarian aid organizations. It aims to get more funding into the hands of people in need and to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of humanitarian action.
IOM is a founding signatory to the Grand Bargain. As such, it has developed supportive actions and commitments to implement the Grand Bargain and made significant efforts to align and provide linkages between its programming and the Grand Bargain from donors.
In March 2017, for instance, IOM became a member of the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), reconfirming its strong commitment to transparency and accountability towards member states, beneficiaries and the public. Amongst other initiatives, it has sought to enhance its available tools and systems to provide more oversight and detailed financial information on IOM’s transfers to Implementing Partners.
