A series of informal thematic sessions on facilitating safe, orderly and regular migration gathered substantive input and concrete recommendations to inform the development of the global compact on migration. The thematic groupings addressed, but were not limited to the elements outlined in paragraph 8 of Annex II of the New York Declaration:
