Sudan: IOM Response

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is working with partners to respond to the worsening situation in and around Sudan where humanitarian needs are at an all-time high. 

Massive displacement – both within and across the country’s borders – has been triggered by the eruption of fighting. IOM is delivering life-saving aid to vulnerable people who are unable to leave worst-hit areas in Sudan, as well as in neighbouring countries where those fleeing the violence require urgent support.  

IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) has active operations in Chad, Central African Republic, South Sudan and Ethiopia providing updates on population mobility, including displacement and cross border mobility. 

IOM is part of the core humanitarian team established in Port Sudan, responsible for overseeing humanitarian operations in the country, and is scaling up its response as the crisis continues to evolve. While the situation remains critical, IOM stands in solidarity with the people of Sudan through this extremely difficult time.
